We are getting excited about GGBY and the World Cup!! It is right around the corner and we are stoked to see you all in the desert very soon!

Here you will be able to view all previous competitor correspondence, organized by date. The travel collaboration is also available to update on this page. Please let us know if you need or can provide a ride to the Fruitbowl!

THE NEW NEWS!

Volunteer Tickets:

Volunteer vouchers for competitors to receive a discounted ticket have been sent out via email.

At check out, use your unique volunteer code (found in the GGBY email) plus the SAVE50 promo code to purchase your full event pass for a total of $70. If you plan to camp in your vehicle or travel with your dog, please purchase these additions at this time. 

Due to the size of the festival and other necessary volunteer positions, GGBY could not provide vouchers for every competitors. We sincerely apologize, as we know it is a financial commitment to attend. If you are interested in an alternative option for a discounted ticket, please consider teaching a workshop. Follow the appropriate channels and apply on the GGBY website.

Competition Format:

Thank you for the feedback you all gave about the proposed rule change for the in-person qualifier. Although people were generally in favor of the one minute run with no breaks, we feel that any changes to the rules, this close to the event, would cause more problems than they solve. 

Next year might be different, but this year the in-person qualifier will be LAAX-format. 

Athlete Commitment:

As the World Cup is rapidly approaching, our team is finalizing competitor spots. On October 23rd, one month before the competition, we will no longer be offering open positions to the next qualified athlete. In order to give all athletes a fair shot at competing in the Fruitbowl, a final commitment to compete must be made by October 23rd. So please, if you do not think you can make it to GGBY, tell us as soon as possible. 

If you are attending the competition, make sure you have your ticket, your van or car pass if you plan on camping in your vehicle, and your travel plans solidified.
