FAQs
-
Head to our camping page and parking/transport page for more info on this.
-
While we are in the desert… it is typically COLD during GGBY. Days can be sunny but chilly and nights can get far below freezing so pack accordingly. While it’s not common, it has snowed in past years. Bring all the proper waterproof gear you need just in case. And bring plenty of firewood! You cannot collect wood at or around the bowl and we do not supply wood for individuals.
-
We have compiled a Participant Checklist which includes (but is not an exhaustive list) of items you should bring to GGBY for the week.
-
This was actually one of the few requirements the BLM need in order to allow the competition to happen at all. All the competitors must be attendees of the festival without additional fees or discounts.
You will also be able to fully go to GGBY if you come to compete. There will be a schedule each day and if you aren’t needed at the comp lines, you’re free to engage in all other aspects of GGBY 2025.
-
No, we do not. But we do offer ticket transfers to other participants if you would like to sell your ticket to someone else. More info on that can be found on our ticket page.
You will need to buy a ticket in order to secure your spot in the comp. If you cannot make it to the festival, your spot will be forfeit.
-
No!
The competition programming will take up less than half of the time available to session two of the three freestyle lines at GGBY. There will also be a 70m Freestyle line that has no comp programming on it at all.
Not only will you be able to freestyle as a non-competitor at GGBY, but you’ll be able to watch a World Cup from 20ft away as you do.
-
Please see our Waste page for more info on this.

Yes! The growth of the gathering has presented new challenges, one being noise at night. We are isolating the evening activities to certain zones and the main dancing/music area will be restricted to a singular area away from the general camping area. All other areas are quiet/low volume zones. We are working hard to create spaces for those with different needs.
Any More Questions?
Don’t hesitate to reach out with any additional questions about the competition.
Odds are, if you are wondering it, so are others, so please ask and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
